Decluttering may not be the most exciting thing to do, but the feeling of an organized space makes up for it big time. Try these ideas to get organized at home one small step at a time.
Start With One Spot A Day:
Start with one spot in the house and go from there. When that space is clean, move on to the next and so on. You can declutter in no time if you start with one area a day or week.
The Tubberwear Drawer:
Start with that dish drawer.
Stack up against your rubber wear.
Get rid of the ones you can't find the lid or matching bowl for.
If you don't have tubberwear tackle that dish cabinet and git rid of the ones that you don't use or don't go with your set.
The Utensil Drawer:
Get an organizer and go through and get rid of your least favorite utensils & cook wear.
Put the leftover utensils into your new organizer.
Scattered Papers:
Paper can make a room feel cluttered because they are everywhere and usually unorganized.
Make a spot for incoming mail and other documents in their own space.
This makes it look intentional rather than scattered and makes your surfaces look great.
Sock Drawers:
Match up those socks and get rid of that old sock with the heel worn out (it's time).
Dead Tech:
We all have that drawer or drawers of chargers and wires that don't work or don't match up with anything. Clean out that drawer; extra tip if you have a million DVDs you don't use, donate or sell them.
Extra Towels and sheets:
We know you can always use an extra towel. Still, if your cabinets are overflowing when you
open, it's time for a refresh.
Get rid of those old towels and sheets and organize the ones you keep for a good looking cabinet or closet.
For extra organization baskets and help contain items and make a closet look even cleaner.
Office supplies
Papers, makers, and pens are so easy to keep and let pile up.
Go through and get rid of the notebooks filled and the other supplies you haven't used in months. Go through your pens and pencils that don't work anymore and toss em.
Bathroom containers - get rid of those empty
bottles. You'd be surprised how many you can collect.
For extra decluttering, take products that scatter and put them in a sturdy container such as q-tips, hair ties, and cotton balls.
This will make your bathroom feel so much cleaner.
Extra Clothes
Go through your closet and if you haven't worn it in a year, get rid of it.
Chances are, if you haven't worn it in a year or more, it won't get worn any time soon.
You can bag everything up and donate or sell it.
